looking for the third path

We're headed to the Justice Conference this weekend, so I may not be able to post for a couple of days (though I'm going to try!), but I'll have lots to talk about when I come back!

In the meantime, a bit from the book I am using for Lent this year:  A Place At the Table: 40 Days of Solidarity with the Poor, Chris Seay.

"The choices are not merely to sell all you have to serve the poor or to keep living in a way that maintains the status quo.  I have found both of these to be faulty models.  The third path is filled with self-denial, immense celebrations, laughter, great food, and a clear conscience.  We need to take time to connect with the poor, resist our unceasing cravings, and pray.  But we also need to gather with friends and family, share in God's good provision, eat delicious food, tell stories that encourage us all, and celebrate the risen Lord...."
